How the Georgia District of Kiwanis Can Help in Haiti
As pictures are being broadcast on TV, we're all devastated by the magnitude of death and destruction in Haiti. All of us feel the impact of this tragic situation with thousands killed and even more displaced from their homes. It's heartbreaking to see pictures of children lost or injured, separated from their families and not knowing if they survived. Many of you have expressed a desire to assist in one of the worst disasters in our lifetime. What an awesome opportunity to "serve the children of the world!" Please give whatever you can. Each and every dollar will make a difference.
The organizations listed below are receiving donations for disaster relief in Haiti. While we know there are many other reputable organizations receiving donations, these dollars will be sent on behalf of Kiwanis.
" Georgia
District Kiwanis Foundation: The GDKF has a disaster relief fund. If you would like to donate to this foundation, please make contributions to the Georgia District Kiwanis Foundation, earmarked Haiti Disaster Relief, and send it to the District Office at 182 Riley Avenue, Suite A, Macon, GA 31204. " Kiwanis Internation Foundation - Disaster Relief Fund: Donations can be sent to 3636 Woodview Trace, Indianapolis, IN 46268.

Additional Opportunities for Service
" American Red Cross: You can donate $10 to the American Red Cross earthquake relief fund for Haiti by texting "Haiti" to 90999. Over $10 million has already been raised through texting! For larger donations go to american.redcross.org.
* Donate SkyMiles: Delta Airlines is allowing customers to donate SkyMiles to Red Cross through SkyWish; United Airlines offers points donations to the Red Cross through its Mileage Plus Charity Miles program; American Airlines is setting up a donation page on its website; and Jet Blue is working on additional flights for doctors and nurses who can provide assistance in Haiti.
Looking for Loved Ones: Americans seeking information about family members in Haiti should call 1.888.407.4747, U.S. State Department Operations Center.
This is only the beginning and it will take years to overcome this tragedy. Please respond as generously as you can! Perhaps you could even plan a fundraiser and donate the funds to Haiti Disaster Relief. Georgia Kiwanians are passionate about service! What an opportunity to literally
"Sail Into Service"!
Thank you for making a difference in our world!
